About Cottingham Dog Walker
Hi, let us introduce ourselves.
My name is Alan Moore and my wife is called Gail. We have lived and worked in and around the Cottingham and Hull area all of our lives. I have recently completed a 30 year career with the local policing authority. Gail has and still is, employed part-time in a local restaurant whereby hospitality and customer relations are her recognised skills. We have combined to embark on what is not only a significant change of career but an exciting adventure into the world of the dog walker, pet taxi and visits to feed pets.
By the sheer nature of our past and current jobs we believe that we can continue to bring many transferable skills into our roles. We have had a very successful first year of trade. We base this on the fact that we are honest, hard- working and trustworthy. We are effective communicators, listeners and problem solvers. Our aim is to provide a professional service at a fair price with flexibility and client needs being placed first. We have public liability insurance and are covered to transport your valued pets to and from walking venues, to enter your property with keys as pet sitters and have been trusted to leave your home as found with your pet in a clean, dry and comfortable condition. We also promise to update you when your pet has returned home to avoid unnecessary worry on the part of the client. We are trained canine first aiders and have disclosure and barring certificates.
We have owned and cared for pet dogs for the last 20+ years. We currently have a Flatcoated Retriever, Rio, who like me is training in both Kennel Club Good Citizen awards and gundog skills. Since beginning our self-employment we have met and walked a huge variety of dogs including Chow Chow’s, Labradors, Cocker Spaniels, Boxers and Rhodesian Ridgebacks. All of our contact with your beloved dogs is based around positive reinforcement.
We aim to operate within a 5 mile radius of Cottingham although we will consider travelling further. We will also make a free visit to you in order to introduce ourselves, meet you and your dog (s) After assessing our compatibility we hope that you will want to complete a contract with us and adopt our services.
We can also offer animal care home visits whereby we will, if instructed to do so, provide fresh water and food, change litter trays, clean out cages etc. Rest assured that upon returning from walks your dog will be left clean, dry and comfortable to await your return. Any ‘doggy’ mishaps will of course be dealt with whether in public or in your home.
We aim to be available to you in all weathers but common sense will prevail when conditions dictate that walking or transporting your dog would be dangerous for either of us. We will always endeavour to contact you by your chosen means to update you should there be any alteration or cancellation of appointments.
Most importantly is the issue of security. This is at the forefront of our minds when dealing with clients. Issues relating to keys, alarm codes etc will be kept completely private and will never be discussed or divulged to others. We have taken steps to ensure the security of keys within our possession. Relevant insurance will be in place to cover for the possibility of theft or loss of property.
We look forward to meeting you and your dogs.
Alan and Gail.
